**The First Generation Student **
A student is considered "first generation" if neither of the student’s parents earned a college degree at the baccalaureate level or higher. A student who regularly resided with and received support from only one parent who did not earn a baccalaureate degree would also be eligible. Many of these students are from underserved groups and marginalized communities.
A college degree can be transformative for first-generation students, offering opportunities for upward mobility, personal growth and financial stability.
First-generation students are pioneers of impact that generate waves of change, setting a ripple effect of influence that transforms families and communities or generations.
